Rattan Sideboards | Cane & Mango Wood Sideboards

A sideboard does a lot of quiet work: it holds the plates, hides the clutter, and gives a wall something worth looking at. Our rattan sideboard range pairs wooden frames with hand-woven panels, so you get dependable storage with a soft, natural texture that warms up a dining room, living space, or hallway.

Every piece is made by hand, finished in natural tones, and built to be used every day rather than kept for show.

Wood Meets Weave

A rattan and wood sideboard balances two materials. The wooden carcass carries the weight of dinnerware and books, while the woven fronts keep the look light. Because the weave lets a little air pass through, it also suits linens and table runners that benefit from breathing room.

Many shoppers look specifically for a sideboard with rattan doors, and many designs here use that layout: cane-webbed doors in front, sturdy shelves behind, and in several models a row of drawers for cutlery or placemats.

Cane, Wicker and Woven Fronts

Cane Webbing

A cane sideboard uses an open, honeycomb-style mesh stretched across the door frames. It reads as airy and slightly retro, and it softens a long wall of wood.

Wicker Texture

If you picture a wicker sideboard, think of the tighter, basket-like look. Our cane mesh offers a similar handmade feel with a cleaner, flatter surface that is easy to dust.

All-Wood Options

For a plainer profile, a mango wood sideboard shows off the grain of the timber itself. Several of these still carry cane webbing on the doors, so the warm timber and the weave work together.

Sizes at a Glance

Width Typical Use Example Models
About 25 to 32 in Entry nooks, beside a bed, under a window Pell, Quill, Orin, Niles
About 35 to 48 in Small dining areas and apartments Larsonfieldby, Mia, Rider
About 53 to 63 in Full dining rooms and long living room walls Sylas, Torren, Marlowe, Olivia, Kai

A small rattan sideboard around 26 inches wide slips into spaces where a full cabinet would crowd the room, and it still gives you closed storage plus a top for a lamp or plant.

A Nod to Mid-Century Style

Cane-fronted cabinets were a staple of mid-century homes, which is why a vintage rattan sideboard look is so easy to recreate with these pieces. Warm wood and woven doors pair naturally with globe lamps, ceramic vases, and framed prints.

Where It Works Best

In a dining room, place it along the longest wall with at least 3 feet of walkway in front. In a living room, a low woven sideboard can stand under a wall-mounted TV or act as a media console. In a hallway, choose a shallow depth of around 15 inches so it does not block traffic.

Caring for Natural Materials

Wipe wooden surfaces with a soft, barely damp cloth and dry them straight away. Run a soft brush over the cane in the direction of the weave to lift dust. Keep the piece out of strong direct sun and away from radiators, and use coasters or a tray under drinks and plants.

Sideboard FAQs

Are these sideboards made of solid wood?

Each design pairs a wooden frame with cane or rattan panels. Exact materials and dimensions are listed on every product page.

Do you offer a black rattan sideboard?

Our current sideboards come in natural rattan and natural wood tones. We do not stock a black finish at the moment.

Is a sideboard the same thing as a buffet?

Not quite, though people often use the words interchangeably. A sideboard is usually lower and longer, made for storage along a wall, while a buffet is often styled as a serving station in the dining room.

Does woven cane lose its tension with daily use?

Cane is woven under tension and holds its shape well with normal use. Avoid pressing on the panels or leaning heavy items against them.

Can a sideboard be used as a TV stand?

Yes. Lower, wider models work well as a media console. Check the top width and weight guidance on the product page.

Do the sideboards need assembly?

Assembly and delivery details are shared on each listing, so check the product page before you order.
